Herbert Wigwe, Access Bank CEO dies in helicopter crash

The Group Chief Executive Officer, Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, has been reported dead.

 

Wigwe was said to have died following a helicopter crash in California near the Nevada border, United States of America.

The Federal Aviation Administration said that the Eurocopter EC130 helicopter crashed with six individuals on board at around 10 p.m. local time near Nipton, Calif., an unincorporated community about 60 miles south of Las Vegas in eastern San Bernardino County.

The crash site was identified east of the 15-Freeway, near Halloran Springs Road, according to the sheriff’s department statement released following the incident.

Reports indicate that the chopper was en route to Las Vegas when the crash occurred in the vicinity of Nipton, California.

However, it’s not confirmed whether his wife or children were involved.

As of Saturday morning, authorities from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported that no survivors had been found.
